I’lana Cotton is a composer, improviser and pianist who has written extensively for chamber and choral ensembles, and has created commissions in collaboration with numerous choreographers and poets.

She holds an M.A. in composition form the University of California at Los Angeles, and also studied both Indonesian and north Indian classical music. For over 20 years, she was on the music faculty of the College of San Mateo in California, and active throughout the Bay area as a modern dance accompanist.

Since moving to the Rogue Valley in 2001, she has become director of the Southern Oregon Threshold Choir with serves the hospice community in Jackson County, choir accompanist for several community choirs, and member of the SOU gamelan.  Visit her website at www.notimemusic.com.
